It Happened in San Felipe

Austin County Pecan Show

The Horticulture Committee of Austin County will host its Annual Pecan Show on Friday, Nov. 20, at the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Office at 800 E Wendt St, Bellville. Entries must be delivered to the office during normal business hours, 8 a.m. to noon, and 1-5 p.m., from Nov. 16-19. All entries must be submitted by 9 a.m. Nov. 20. Holiday Hold’em

Want to maintain or lose weight this holiday season? A community wellness program, Holiday Hold’em will begin soon. The free online challenge is designed to encourage participants to gain no more than two pounds during the holiday season. The AgriLife Extension programs of Austin and Fayette counties will offer the program starting Sunday, Nov. 22, through Jan. 4. On average, people gain 8-10 pounds during the holiday season. Holiday Hold’em is a six-week challenge to gain no more than two pounds during the holidays. To register, visit

Fantasy of Lights

The Sealy Community Foundation is holding the annual Fantasy of Lights on Dec. 4-6 with the popular parade on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. The theme will be A 2020 Christmas. This year events will be held at B&PW Park. Events include a barbecue cookoff, softball tournament, and a gingerbread house decorating contest. For more information, visit

Eagle Lake holiday celebration

The Eagle Lake Chamber of Commerce is hosting holiday festivities on Dec. 12. The Christmas Mall will be open in Eagle Lake from noon to 9 p.m. The parade of lights will start at 6:45 p.m., followed by pictures with Santa. For more information, email

Christmas in Old Town Sealy

Wreaths Across America

Sealy High School Student Council, NHS, and Interact are hosting their 3rd Annual Sealy Wreaths Across event on Saturday, Dec. 19. Christmas mixer

The Sealy Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual membership Christmas mixer on Thursday, Dec. 10, from 5-8 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express and Suites, 2370 Hwy. 36 South. Unwrapped gifts benefiting the Blue Santa project will be collected.

Barbecue chicken dinner

A drive-thru barbecue chicken dinner benefitting the Friends of the Sealy American Legion will be held Sunday, Dec. 20, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, 1630 Meyer St.
