Sealy graduates complete Air Force training

A pair of Sealy High School graduates recently completed their Air Force basic training and technical school courses.

Airman Basic Derek J. Bollinger, 18, of Sealy graduated from United States Air Force Basic Military Training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland on Nov. 15, 2019. AB Bollinger successfully completed 8.5 weeks of intensive basic training program at Lackland AFB. That training included military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. He graduated in the top 10% of his flight. He then proceeded to Fort Lee, Va., for 30 days of technical training school in air transportation. Airman Bollinger graduated second in his class and was promoted to Airman 1st class. He was approved for the recruiter’s assistance program to help his recruiter (MSGT Kyle Atkinson) with the surrounding area in conjunction with his leave time. A1C Bollinger will then report to his new permanent duty assignment at Joint Base Pearl Harbor in Oahu, Hawaii, for a three-year tour. He is a 2019 graduate of Sealy High School and the son of Clint and Kimberly Bollinger of Sealy.

Joseph J. Cevallos

Airman Basic Joseph J. Cevallos, 19, of Sealy graduated from United States Air Force Basic Military Training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland on Sept. 25, 2019. AB Joseph successfully completed 8.5 weeks of intensive basic training program at Lackland AFB. That training included military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills while receiving a Warhawk Award for his outstanding PT score. He then proceeded to Shepard Air Force Base for technical training to specialize in aircraft maintenance. He is a 2019 graduate of Sealy High School and the son of Martha and Joe Cevallos of Sealy.
