The coronavirus pandemic may have forced the cancelation of many events in 2020 but it is not slowing down activities for the holidays.
The Sealy News is once again hosting the Angel Tree where members of the community select an ornament with the name and gift wish of a retirement home member off the Angel Tree, purchase and wrap the gift, and return it with the ornament to the newspaper office (193 Schmidt Road). Those gifts are then given to the residents of The Oaks and Silver Lake retirement communities. The retirement homes are coordinating with Tony’s Family Restaurant to once again provide a meal for the seniors, but plans were not finalized by press time. The Angel Tree will go up the week of Thanksgiving.
Children wishing to color pictures for the newspaper’s annual wrapping paper section can find them in the paper in the next two weeks or also download them from the website at www.sealynews.com. The colorful wrapping paper will be printed in the Dec. 10 and Dec. 17 editions of the paper. The coloring contest is also open to home-schooled students and virtual learners. Look for more information in next week’s edition of The Sealy News.
Letters to Santa
