Carolyn Ann Cole


Carolyn Ann Cole was born on Dec. 15, 1946, in Gilmer, Texas, to James R. and Maude Little Martindale. On May 18, 1968, she married Gary R. Cole in Gilmer. They have lived in Sealy for the last 40 years.

Carolyn loved to travel and spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was very creative and enjoyed sewing, painting and cooking. She was a very talented cake decorator. Carolyn also really enjoyed bowling. She was in a league and bowled in many tournaments throughout her retirement. The teams she bowled in were with her beloved husband, Gary Cole, or with her local friends and friends she met along the way. Throughout her 40 years of bowling she earned many awards and trophies, including her patch for attending the United States Bowling Congress National Women’s Bowling Championships every year.

Carolyn Ann Cole passed away on Thursday, Nov. 19, 2020, at her home in Sealy at the age of 73.

She is survived by her loving husband, Gary Cole of Sealy; daughters, Regina Killebrew of Katy and Rebecca Cole of Houston; brother, James Martindale Jr. of West Columbia; her grandchildren, Grant Killebrew and Kayla Killebrew; and her many nephews; as well as many other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a granddaughter, Erin Killebrew.

A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2020, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Grand Parkway Chapel, in Katy, with the Rev. C. McAllister “Mac” Vaughn officiating.
