Bellville Medical Center recently announced the opening of BMC’s Austin County Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Clinic.
As part of that effort, BMC had hired Dr. Shawn E. Johnson, orthopaedic and sports medicine surgeon, who will serve Austin and surrounding counties fulltime beginning Aug. 3.
Johnson graduated from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in Dallas then continued her residency training at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in El Paso. She served in the U.S. Army, including two deployments to Afghanistan, for 10 years.
Johnson then proceeded to further her training with a sports medicine fellowship at the Oschner Medical Center in Louisiana.
A desire to return to her family and friends in the Houston area brought Johnson back to Texas. In addition to coming home, she recently married and moved to the Hempstead area with her husband, Chris. Johnson will be seeing patients in both Bellville and Sealy and looks forward to serving the area.
